Well, it has been a fairly eventful week here in GW-Land. I spent the first part of the week in Montreal at a Localization conference (work, not GW related) where I managed to squeak in time to get the first rev of the Web Site finished up (or at least in a 'post-able' state). Unfortunately I had totally forgotten my access password to my RR acount so I couldn't post it and couldn't really get much assistance from RR since I didn't have our Master Account info with me either (the perils of trying to do this stuff while far from home...). Anyway, I should have it up this weekend so you can check it out and give me some feedback.
On the downside, someone smashed the window of my traveling companion's car and stole the bookbag I had in there which happened to have my Mp3 player and the nice digital camera Bev had given me, along with some other things, so I am totally bummed about all that. This happened in a Hotel parking lot, with an attendant on duty in the middle of the day... some people really suck a little more than others.
Practiced last night, which raised my mood a little for a while. We actually have gotten through everything at this point so we at least know what songs we will be doing at the debut...that's progress. Still a few rough transitions we need to iron out and some harmonies to tweak, but it's all coming together nicely.
I have to share this with you....it is Iggy Pop's Rider for club dates on this tour and it is a riot. Apparently Iggy and the Stooges travel light, just guitars and mics. The venue provides everything else and this rider is the addendum to their contract which outlines what they will expect to find when they get there. It's long but worth the effort.

I read Neil Gaiman's blog pretty religiously (along with around 2 million other people) and he is constantly posting links of interest that people send him. I thought I would post some of the more interesting ones here, provided they relate to this blog in some way (music-oriented, at least).
So it is nice to be home, really sad to be without my camera and my music but things with the band are going really swell. Bev and I are going to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers tomorrow night, I will report back. Should be great!
If you are into old Genesis (who isn't?) Musical Box is coming to Proctor's on Oct. 29. Musical Box is a group from Montreal that tours the world re-creating Genesis' early tours to the letter...clothes, costumes, sets, lighting, slides, instruments, you name it...to the point where their drummer is a left-handed drummer with thinning hair who sings with his head cocked to one side (meaningful only if you have ever actually watched Phil Collins play and sing). Bev and I saw them last year at the Palace Theater where they performed the Lamb Lies Down show. It was AMAZING!! I swear they had it down to the point of having people planted in the audience piping out the sorts of things that drove Peter Gabriel to leave Genesis after that tour. Absolutely detail-perfect! At Proctor's they will be performing the Selling England By The Pound show and I am sure it will be equally amazing. We won't be able to attend 8-(, but if anyone does go, please report back.
That's about all for now. I'll send out a mailing when the web site is up so you can all check it out.
Cheers, BBK
