Wow!!! What a great night at The Mill Rock!! Thanks to everyone who came out to see our first gig, you really made it special.
While everyone had a great time, as expected the band had mixed feelings about the gig, mostly very good. We made more flubs than we would have liked, but we also hit some great grooves and interactions that were completely 'of the moment' and since that is what we are supposed to be all about, we felt it was a major achievement that we were actually able to capture some of that the first time out, amidst the usual first gig equipment snafus and general anxiety of trying to get everything right. It should only get better from here!!!
We will hopefully have some pictures up on the web site soon from Saturday's gig at the Mill Rock (Denny doubled as Lighting Guru AND Photographer for the night).
Big thanks to Gladys, Cassie and the rest of the crew at The Mill Rock for a great party. And a special thanks to Travelin' Matt for being our trusted door guy.
Note - If you felt the $5 cover was steep, keep in mind that you got a $2 voucher for the bar, which dropped your actual cover to $3 and the band got the whole $5, which considering the 10's of thousands of dollars in gear we maintain and the hours and hours of practice that goes into bringing you the best show possible, really isn't too bad a deal. At least you can rest assured that every cent went directly to the band, which isn't always the case, thanks to Matt and Denny who made sure all of the money was straight. We are funneling most of it directly back into the band to keep our momentum at the point that it is currently at.
So now we are onto the next gig, which is currently December 30 (Saturday) at The Glenville Saloon (the former Allen's) on Rt. 50 in Glenville. Please try and attend this one as it is another new club and has the distinction of being the club where most of us started our musical journey way back when. This band will only ever be as strong as the folks who support it and we want to make sure everyone who does support us knows how much we appreciate it. Let's have another rockin' night at The Glenville Saloon!!!.
